The Beginning
House of Bindiya began with a personal search.
For years, I struggled to find clothing that truly felt right. As a curvy woman, many garments seemed designed to cling, restrict, or follow trends that never resonated with me. I found myself drawn instead to silhouettes that allow the body to breathe - pieces that feel effortless, comfortable, and considered.
Clothing, to me, has always been about ease and presence rather than spectacle.
A Home Filled With Fabric
Long before this brand existed, fabric was already part of my life.
My mother once ran her own boutique. She understood textiles, silhouettes, and the discipline that goes into dressing people well. When she stepped away from the business to raise me, the boutique closed, but her instinct for clothing never left our home.
I grew up watching garments being altered, fabrics being discussed, and outfits being chosen with care. What I didn’t realise then was that those everyday moments were quietly shaping my own understanding of clothing.
A Story That Came Full Circle
There is another thread that makes this journey even more personal.
My mother’s boutique was named after my nickname. Years later, when I began building this brand, the name I kept returning to was hers.
House of Bindiya carries that connection forward - a story that has travelled from mother to daughter and found its way back again in a new form.
Today, my mother and I work on this brand together. Her experience and my perspective meet in every collection.
Craft at the Heart
At the centre of House of Bindiya is a deep admiration for India’s textile traditions.
Block printing, weaving, and natural fibres carry histories that cannot be rushed. Every irregularity, every subtle variation, is a reminder that these pieces are made by human hands.
We work with these traditions not as relics of the past, but as living crafts that continue to evolve.
Our Philosophy
House of Bindiya is built on a simple belief:
Clothing should support the person wearing it, not compete with them.
Our silhouettes prioritise comfort, fluidity, and presence. The fabrics we choose are meant to soften with time and become part of your everyday life.
These are pieces made to be worn often, remembered fondly, and carried through different chapters.
